I’m drowning, I can’t breathe.
Attempts to blank out life’s setbacks and things that I’m unhappy about
my own self.
Only logical endpoint: always left alone in a room with a bottle in my grasp and no one left around me.
At first successfully hiding the true extent of my addiction from my family, my friends, my workmates and my peers.
Getting back up on my feet just to spiral back down again.
So stressful for my loved ones when exposed to my self-destruction.
Signs that I’m out of control.
Normalising excessive consumption, causing irreparable damage to my health and relationships.
Unaware how destructive.
Exasperating my friends again and again and again.
Just one more. Just one more. Just one more.
Demanding and then rejecting help and advice from all who want nothing but to break through to me and help me walk away for good.
